Bloodborne Pathogens Training is a mandatory training that all staff must complete at the beginning of each school year.
Right to Know Training is also a mandatory training that all staff must complete at the beginning of each school year.
Mandatory Reporter Training Module This mandatory reporter training program meets current state requirements. All teachers must renew their mandatory reporter certificate every five years.

Online Resources offered Through Heartland AEA

Com Cat is a keyword searchable catalog of all Heartland Area Education Agency's materials plus the collections of more than 120 schools in the central Iowa area. You can use this site to check to see if another school in Ankeny or nearby has a title that you need to complete your research. The Crocker Library Media Center staff will help you borrow the material through the inter-library loan system. This new version of Com Cat also has links to all the AEA's databases.
Medianet Web Catalog can be used by Teachers to access the Heartland Area Education Agency Medianet Web Catalog to request video lending items, Professional Library in-service materials, or boxed books. You may also find items to purchase such as computer software or videos for duplication.
United Streaming is an instructional resource that contains over 40,000 video clips in every content area, teacher's guides, student activities, sample lesson plans, classroom integration ideas, and almost 20,000 high quality digital images. Each teacher can create their own personal account.
ClipArt.Com is a collection of over 2.5 million searchable clipart images, photos, fonts, and sounds. All items are copyright free!
EBSCO Host contains student resources for elementary, middle, and high school levels. It includes magazine and newspaper articles, speeches, historical documents, reference books, book reviews, and more.
AtomicLearning is an online training database of narrated tutorial movies. It shows you how to use many software programs commonly used in our schools.
Multimedia Archive is a database of Associated Press Archive photos, text, and sound.
AccuWeather.Com is a comprehensive data source for wrldwide weather information.

Online Resources for Teachers

Read, Write, and Think is a partnership between the International Reading Association (IRA), the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), and the Verizon Foundation. NCTE and IRA are working together to provide educators and students with access to the highest quality practices and resources in reading and language arts instruction through free, Internet-based content.
Teaching Books is a resource for teachers all about books...teaching with books in all content areas, book activities and extentions, author interviews, illustrators and their art process, and much more.
Discovery Schools offers a wide variety of resources for teachers, many of them are free. There are lesson plans, teaching tools, a curriculum center, homework helper, and a variety of other resources to explore.
Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators is a great resource for teachers. There is subject access to a number of links that support the curriculum. She also posts links to new web sites each week. There are links to many search tools and other teacher tools.
School Express is full of links to free resources. There are links for worksheets, activities, puzzlemakers, award certificate makers, puzzle a day, journal writing sheets, and much more. 
Graphic Organizer Worksheets includes a wide variety of free graphic organizers for all subject areas and grade levels.
