Online Resources for Students

  • Grolier Online includes The New Book of Knowledge, Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia, and America the Beautiful. If you are searching a general encyclopedia, try the The New Book of Knowledge first. This encyclopedia is designed for students in grades 3, 4 and 5. It provides lots of information about current events in addition to being an in-depth resource for research.

  • World Book Online provides every article available in the 22-volume print set, plus thousands more. It includes pictures, maps, videos, animations and sounds. Type in your username and password to use World Book Online.

  • You can search magazines, pamphlets, maps, and a whole lot more in the EBSCO database. You can find resources such as the World Almanac for Kids and Funk and Wagnall's New World Encyclopedia at this address. After typing in your username and password, choose Searchasaurus.

  • Access ArtToday's Clip Art library. This site contains more than 2,500,000 clipart images, animations, photos, fonts, and sounds.

  • The AccuNet/AP Multimedia Archive is a second excellent source for photos, text, audio clips, and graphics. You will need to type in your username and password to search this site.

  • Visit the Kirkendall Public Library to search the online catalog, to place a hold on a book, to renew an item or to check on special programs and services.

  • When creating a bibliography for a report, use Landmarks Citation Machine to help build citations in MLA style for all kinds of reference materials.
